All of Fabric 5 is TeamAOE's Minecraft 1.18 kitchen-sink pack: technology, magic, exploration and more than a thousand quests running on Fabric. It has passed 650,000 downloads on CurseForge, and unusually for a pack of this age it was still being updated in 2025.

That maintenance is the reason to pick it over its neighbours in the series. A pack that still receives fixes is a pack whose bugs have been found by someone else first.

The 1.18 world generation is the backdrop here, and it changes the early game: deeper caves and taller mountains mean exploration stays interesting past the first week, which suits a pack whose quest book keeps sending you out for materials.

The rest is familiar kitchen-sink rhythm. Someone takes power, someone takes storage, someone takes magic, and the quest chain keeps the group from drifting apart into private projects.

AOF5 targets Minecraft 1.18 on the Fabric loader. Check the exact build your group installs — the pack went through a long release history, including a 2.x line, and mixing builds between server and clients is the usual cause of failed connections.

Fabric also means Fabric mods only. If your group has a favourite Forge mod, it either has a Fabric port for 1.18 or it is not joining this server.

4 GB runs a small group, 6 GB is the comfortable number for four to eight players, and 8 GB gives you room for heavy automation and several loaded bases. Fabric's lighter footprint helps, but a thousand quests worth of content still adds up.

If performance drops in the evening when everyone is online, look at how many chunks are being kept loaded by machines before you look at the memory graph.

AOF6 has the larger mod list and the newer Minecraft version; AOF5 has the longer support tail and a slightly lighter load. If your group wants the newest content, take 6. If you want a world you will still be playing at Christmas, 5 is the safer bet.
