- GameTeam follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

- Like any other website, GameTeam uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. - Compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to keep tax/accounting records, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to operate, secure, and improve our infrastructure; prevent fraud, abuse, DDoS and other attacks against our network; and analyse aggregated usage. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for non-essential cookies, marketing emails, and any optional features that ask for your explicit permission. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
12. Data Retention
- We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy or as required by law. Typical retention periods are:
- Account & billing records — for the duration of your account plus up to 7 years after closure, to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
- Server content & backups — for the active life of your service. Once a service is cancelled, terminated, or you request data deletion, the server and its backups are removed irreversibly, typically within 30 days.
- Support tickets & chat transcripts — up to 3 years, to handle follow-up issues and improve our service.
- Server access logs & security events — up to 12 months, for security, abuse prevention, and incident investigation.
- Marketing data — until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
- We may retain anonymised or aggregated data, which can no longer identify you, for longer periods for analytics.
13. Data Sharing & Sub-processors
- We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers (sub-processors) who help us operate the service, under contractual data protection obligations. Categories include:
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe, PayPal) — to take payments, process refunds, and detect payment fraud. They receive only the data they need to process the transaction.
- Datacenter and network providers across our locations — to host your server hardware and provide DDoS protection.
- Email and transactional messaging providers — to send account, billing, and support emails.
- Live chat & help desk providers (e.g. our chat widget at help.gameteam.io) — to enable real-time customer support.
- Analytics & advertising providers (e.g. Google) — only where you have given consent for non-essential cookies.
- Professional advisors (accountants, lawyers, auditors) — where required for legal or regulatory purposes.
- Law enforcement and competent authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or where necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
- We may also disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
14. International Data Transfers
- GameTeam operates datacenters across North America, Europe, and Asia. Depending on where you choose to host your server and which sub-processors are involved, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your home jurisdiction, including outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
- Where personal data of EEA/UK users is transferred to a country that has not been recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with supplementary technical and organisational measures.
15. Data Security
- We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for the website, billing panel, and control panel;
- Hashing of account passwords;
- Network-level DDoS protection and firewalling;
- Role-based access controls and least-privilege access for staff;
- Regular patching of operating systems and underlying infrastructure;
- Logging and monitoring of administrative access and security events.
- No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for any activity that occurs under your account.
16. Data Breach Notification
- In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent supervisory authority without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by GDPR Article 33.
- Where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will also notify affected users without undue delay, in accordance with GDPR Article 34.
17. Children’s Information
- Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
- GameTeam does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction, which under the GDPR/UK GDPR may be up to 16). If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services, or applicable law. The “last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was most recently revised.
