Azuria RockBlock 3 is mogcid's harder take on StoneBlock 3, built for Minecraft 1.16.5 on Forge, with over 90,000 downloads on CurseForge. You start enclosed in stone rather than floating in the void, and everything you build has to be carved out of it.

The difference from the pack it is based on is the recipe work. Several recipes have been modified specifically to force a logical order of progression through the mods, so you cannot jump ahead by finding a cheap route in a mod you happened to know. It is StoneBlock with the shortcuts closed.

The pack spans magic and tech, and progression runs through both rather than letting you pick one:

• Botania for mana-based magic and its plant-driven automation.
• Blood Magic for the costly, high-risk branch of the magic side.
• Thermal for approachable early and mid-game machinery.
• Mekanism for ore multiplication and the serious late-game production chain.
• A quest book that ties it together and tells you what the modified recipes actually want.

Azuria RockBlock 3 runs on Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge. Its last release, version 1.40, arrived in January 2023, so the pack is finished and stable.

Client and server must run the same build. On a pack with this much recipe modification, a mismatch means players see recipes the server will not accept, which is far more confusing than a simple failed connection.

Plan for 6 GB for a group of two to four, and 8 GB for five or six players once everyone has production running. Stone-based packs are not as light as void skyblocks — you are surrounded by real blocks, and mining through them generates constant world updates.

The mid game is where the cost appears. Mekanism and Botania both run continuously once established, and a server where every player has their own full setup ticks considerably more than one with a shared production base.

• Create a Minecraft server and install the pack with its 1.16.5 Forge build.
• Let the first start finish so the stone world generates correctly.
• Never regenerate the world once people have carved out bases.
• Give everyone the identical pack version.
• Follow the quest book — the modified recipes are documented there and nowhere else.

Because the pack deliberately rewrites recipes to enforce progression order, tutorials written for Botania or Mekanism in other packs will often be wrong here. The quest book reflects what this pack actually requires, and groups who rely on it instead of external guides waste far less time.

In a stone world, space is something you have to earn, and clearing it out is work. Groups that dig one large shared chamber and build inside it progress much faster than groups where everyone excavates their own — and the server has far fewer scattered loaded chunks to keep alive.
