Walls, foundations and thralls fill a Conan server's memory faster than players do, and a world that has run for months still carries every piece anyone ever placed. How to set up a Conan Exiles server on GameTeam

Write the rules

Send your clan the address
Your panel shows the server address. In the in-game server browser, use Direct Connect with that address and the password if you set one, then favourite the server so the next join is one click.
Good to know before you start
The mod load order in modlist.txt matters: two mods that both alter the same item behave differently depending on which loads last.
The most common problem
A mod updating on the Workshop while the server is running causes a version mismatch that blocks every player until the server restarts and pulls it too.
Conan Exiles server settings explained
Gameplay rules live in ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ServerSettings.ini under [ServerSettings] (LinuxServer on the Linux build). The server name and join password sit in Engine.ini in the same folder, under [OnlineSubsystem]. Once you are admin, most of these can also be changed in game from the Server Settings tab. These are the ones clans fight about:

HarvestAmountMultiplier | How many resources each hit gathers. |
PlayerXPRateMultiplier | Multiplies every kind of XP players earn. |
ItemConvertionMultiplier | Crafting time (the game really spells it that way). Below 1 crafts faster. |
ThrallConversionMultiplier | How long thralls take to break. Below 1 is faster. |
UseMinionPopulationLimit | Caps thralls and pets per clan: MinionPopulationBaseValue (default 50) plus MinionPopulationPerPlayer (default 5) for each member. |
ClanMaxSize | Maximum members per clan. The default is 30. |
DisableBuildingAbandonment | Turns building decay off, so absent players keep their bases. Needs a restart. |
EnableWhitelist | Only players on the whitelist can join. |
Conan Exiles server commands
Set AdminPassword first (or ask the copilot to). In game, open the console with Insert or ~ and type MakeMeAdmin yourpassword, or press Make Me Admin in the Server Settings tab. These then work from your console:

Can I add mods to a Conan Exiles server?
Yes, through Steam Workshop. Mods are listed in modlist.txt in load order and must match on clients.
Each mod is a .pak file in ConanSandbox/Mods, and modlist.txt lists them one per line in load order. Players who join without the right mods are offered a download of the missing ones. On Conan Exiles Enhanced, pick Workshop mods tagged Enhanced, and never rename a mod's .pak file: a renamed pak fails to load. The dedicated server guide walks through it.

Can I host my own Conan Exiles server?
Yes, on PC. The Conan Exiles Dedicated Server is a free Steam tool (app 443030) for Windows and Linux, and Funcom's free Dedicated Server Launcher handles updates, Workshop mods and the basic settings. Is there a Conan Exiles server rental for Xbox One or PS4?
Not from us. Funcom only lets you host a server on PC, and a player can only join a server running the same version of the game: Xbox and PlayStation stay on the original Unreal Engine 4 version with their own servers. Console private servers are rented from Funcom's official server partner. GameTeam servers are for PC players.
How many players can join a Conan Exiles server?
The cap is the server's MaxPlayers value, and 20–40 is typical for a public server. Bigger is possible with enough RAM and a fast CPU: the wiki's hardware table goes up to 70 players on 12 GB. GameTeam never charges per slot, so the only limits are the game's and the RAM you choose.
Why can't anyone join after a mod update?
A Workshop mod updated while the server was still running, so players now have a newer version than the server and the join is refused. Restart the server so it pulls the update too. On GameTeam the copilot reads the log, names the mod and does the restart for you.
How do I become admin on my Conan Exiles server?
Put an AdminPassword into ServerSettings.ini and restart the server. Once you are in the world, the Server Settings tab has a Make Me Admin button; the console route is MakeMeAdmin followed by your password. You know it worked when "Admin Rights Granted" shows up in the top-right corner.
What is the best server host for Conan Exiles?
