Satisfactory Server Hosting
Build the factory that swallows a planet with your team while the AI copilot keeps the power on.
What do you need from a Satisfactory server host?
A Satisfactory dedicated server needs 8–12 GB of RAM (the official wiki's recommended minimum is 8 GB), the free Satisfactory Dedicated Server app (Steam app 1690800, also on Epic), ports 7777 UDP/TCP and 8888 TCP reachable, and one player to claim it from the in-game Server Manager. A Satisfactory server host does all of that for you: on GameTeam you pay per GB of RAM, from $0.49/GB a week, we never charge per slot (the game defaults to 4 players and MaxPlayers raises it), and the AI copilot edits the ini files, reads the log and tells you whether a big save is loading or actually stuck.
Run your Satisfactory server by just asking.
Satisfactory splits its settings between the in-game Server Manager and ini files that get overwritten if you edit them at the wrong moment. Ask the copilot instead: it stops the server, makes the change, starts it again and reads the log when something looks wrong.
Grow With the Factory
Per-GB pricing — add RAM when the save outgrows the plan, not before.
"Frozen or Loading?" — Answered
The copilot reads the log and tells you whether the server is booting a big save or actually stuck.

Satisfactory with friends
A first-person factory builder on an alien world: mine, conveyor, refine and expand until your machines cover the landscape. Everything is built by hand in 3D, so a group project ends up as a monument you can walk through — and argue about.
Satisfactory server RAM requirements
8-12 GB. Factory size is what drives it; a late-game save is dramatically heavier than an early one.
| Your server | Starting RAM | From (Budget, weekly) |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 players, early tiers | 8 GB | $3.92 / week |
| 1–4 players, late game and sprawling factories | 12 GB | $5.88 / week |
| 5–8 players (raise MaxPlayers first) | 12 GB | $5.88 / week |
Satisfactory's memory use follows the size of the factory more than the number of pioneers. The official wiki sets 8 GB as the floor and suggests 16 GB for very large saves or more than four players, so add RAM when load times stretch or the server starts to stutter. It is one click in the panel, and the save stays as it is. Player limit: 4-8 is the practical co-op size.
How to set up a Satisfactory server on GameTeam
Pick RAM and a location
8 GB suits a new save with up to four players. Pick the location nearest your group: we have 25+ across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
Claim it in the Server Manager
In Satisfactory, open Server Manager from the main menu, choose Add Server and paste the address from the panel. The first person in sets the server name and admin password, then creates a game or uploads a save from Manage Saves.
Bring your team in
Each friend enters that same address under Add Server in their own Server Manager. Joining any other way gives an "Encryption token missing" error. Set a player password if you want the factory private.
Good to know before you start
The server is claimed from the game client on first connect, which sets the admin password — until that happens the server appears unmanaged.
The most common problem
Save size grows with factory complexity, and a late-game save can take long enough to load that the server looks unresponsive during boot.
Satisfactory server settings explained
Most options live in the in-game Server Manager, which stores them on the server. The rest are ini files in FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer (WindowsServer on Windows). Change those only while the server is stopped: Satisfactory rewrites them on a graceful shutdown, and edits made while it runs get lost.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
Server Name | The name shown in every player's Server Manager. |
Admin Password | Set when the server is claimed. Admins load saves and change server options. |
Player Password Protection | Off by default. Turn it on and set a player password to make the server private. |
Auto-Load Session Name | The session the server loads when it starts. |
Auto Pause | Pauses the game when nobody is connected, so the factory only runs while someone plays. |
Auto-Save on Player Disconnect | Saves the game whenever a player leaves. |
Server Restart Interval | Despite the name, the hour of the day the server restarts (for example 06:00), not a repeating timer. |
Autosave Interval | Minutes between autosaves. |
Network Quality | Higher can improve load times and network smoothness, at the cost of server frame rate. |
MaxPlayers | In Game.ini under [/Script/Engine.GameSession]. The default is 4, which is what the server is tuned for. |
InitialConnectTimeout / ConnectionTimeout | In Engine.ini under [/Script/OnlineSubsystemUtils.IpNetDriver]. Both default to 30 seconds; raise them if players time out joining a big save. |
mNumRotatingAutosaves | In Engine.ini under [/Script/FactoryGame.FGSaveSession]. How many autosaves rotate (default 3). |
Satisfactory server commands
Log in as admin in the Server Manager and open its Console tab. On the current version that tab is the only place the dedicated server accepts commands.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
server.SaveGame <name> | Saves the current session under the name you give. |
FG.AutosaveInterval <seconds> | Changes how often the server autosaves (the wiki gives 300 seconds as the default). |
quit | Shuts the server process down (stop and exit do the same). A service manager may start it again. |
server.GenerateAPIToken | Creates a token for tools that use the server's HTTPS API. |
server.InvalidateAPITokens | Revokes every API token issued so far. |
Can I add mods to a Satisfactory server?
Yes, through the Satisfactory Mod Manager ecosystem. Server-side mods are installed on the server and matched by clients.
Mods come from ficsit.app and are installed with Satisfactory Mod Manager (3.0 or newer) or ficsit-cli. Not every mod runs on a dedicated server: check for a tick in the Server column on the mod's page. Every player needs the same mods and versions as the server, or the join fails.
Satisfactory server ports
Ports 15000 and 15777 from before 1.0 are no longer used. On GameTeam there is nothing to forward: the panel shows your server's exact address.
Pay per GB of RAM. Never per slot.
You pay for memory, not seats, and billing can be weekly, so you are never locked into a month the group might not play. Change RAM in one click, or switch the same server to another game. The AI copilot is included on every plan.

What server owners say
"Honestly didn't expect much from an 'AI manager', but it's how I run my server now. I'll type something like 'why did the server crash last night' and it actually reads the logs and tells me."
Verified review
"I'd been on two other hosts before this. What sold me was the AI manager catching a memory leak in one of my mods and naming the exact one — something I'd been chasing for weeks."
Verified review
"I'm not very technical and setting up servers always stressed me out. Now I just ask the assistant to fix a config, and it either walks me through it or does it for me."

Satisfactory server hosting FAQ
How much RAM does a Satisfactory server need?
Plan for 8–12 GB. A new save with up to four players runs on 8 GB; a late-game factory wants 12 GB. The official wiki suggests 16 GB for very large saves or more than four players. More RAM is a single click in the GameTeam panel.
How many players can join a Satisfactory dedicated server?
Four by default, the number the game officially supports. Raise it with MaxPlayers in Game.ini (or ask the copilot); the wiki calls 127 theoretically possible but not practical, and 4–8 is the realistic range. That cap is the game's, not ours: GameTeam never charges per slot.
How do I join and claim my Satisfactory server?
Open Server Manager from the main menu, choose Add Server and enter the address shown in your panel. The first player to connect claims it by naming it and setting the admin password. Everyone else adds the same address and joins from the Server Manager, not from Join Game.
Can I upload my existing Satisfactory save?
Yes. Log in as admin in the Server Manager, open Manage Saves and upload the save from your PC, then load it. Single-player and co-op saves both work, and the factory carries on where you left it.
Can Steam and Epic players play on the same server?
Yes. Players from both the Steam and Epic versions of Satisfactory can join the same dedicated server. The PS5 and Xbox versions cannot use dedicated servers, so console players can't join.
What does "Your connection to the host has been lost" mean?
The game stopped hearing from the server. It is usually the daily restart (set by Server Restart Interval), a crash, or a join that hit the 30-second timeout while a big save loaded. Ask the copilot: it reads the log and tells you which one it was, and can raise the timeouts in Engine.ini.
Is it cheaper to rent a Satisfactory server or host it myself?
Self-hosting costs a PC that stays on, with 8 GB or more free for the server alone. A Satisfactory server rental on GameTeam costs $0.49/GB a week on Budget, or $1.99/GB billed monthly: 8 GB is $3.92 a week and 12 GB is $5.88 a week. Slots are unlimited and the AI copilot is included.
Do I need a dedicated server, or can I host from the game?
You can host a session from inside Satisfactory, but it only runs while the host is playing. A dedicated server keeps the session up for players to join and leave on their own schedule, and that is what Satisfactory dedicated server hosting gives you: the factory is there whenever anyone logs in, even if the person who started it is offline.
Is the server on the latest version of Satisfactory?
Satisfactory is on update 1.2, out since June 2026. On GameTeam, stopping and starting the server installs the latest version, and the copilot can back up the save first. Players on an older or newer game build than the server can't join, so update both sides together.
